Privacy Policy for CineVibe

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to the CineVibe mobile application (the “Application”) for Android devices, created by the developer as a free service. The Application is provided at no cost and is intended for use “as is”. CineVibe allows users to browse movies and TV shows, manage watchlists, track watching progress, and organize personal media libraries.

2. Information Collection and Use

CineVibe can be used locally without an account. However, creating an account or signing in unlocks cloud synchronization across devices.

Account Information (Google Sign-In)

When you choose to sign in using Google Login, we receive basic profile information provided via Firebase Authentication:

• Display Name
• Email Address
• Unique User Identifier (Firebase UID / Google Account ID)
• Profile Photo URL (used solely for displaying your avatar within the app)

User-Generated Content & Cloud Sync (Firebase Cloud Firestore)

If signed in, your personal media library data is securely synced and stored in Google Cloud Firestore:

• Watchlist & Progress Tracking: Movies and TV shows marked as watching, watched, plan-to-watch, or dropped, along with episode-level progress and watch dates.
• Ratings: Star and numeric ratings assigned to titles.
• Private Notes: Personal notes and memos added to movies or TV shows.
• Custom Lists: User-created custom lists, titles, descriptions, and item associations.
• Favorites & Preferences: Favorited media, favorited persons/cast members, and hidden items.

3. Location Information

The Application does not collect, track, or request any precise or real-time GPS location data from your mobile device.

4. Third-Party Services and SDKs

The Application integrates third-party services that process data in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Remote Config, Analytics)

• Firebase Authentication manages secure sign-in.
• Cloud Firestore stores your synced media tracking, lists, ratings, and notes.
• Firebase Analytics collects aggregated, non-personally identifiable diagnostic and interaction metrics (including Firebase App Instance IDs) to identify crashes and improve app stability.

The Movie Database (TMDB)

• CineVibe uses the TMDB API to fetch movie/TV metadata, cast information, posters, and search results. Search terms and media lookups are transmitted to TMDB servers. No personal account credentials or private tracking data are shared with TMDB.

YouTube / Embedded Video Services

• Media trailers are served via YouTube. By watching trailers within the Application, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Security

We prioritize protecting your information. All communications between the Application, Firebase Cloud Firestore, Firebase Auth, and the TMDB API are encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS / TLS (Transport Layer Security). Cloud-stored data is isolated per authenticated user account and guarded by Firebase Security Rules on Google Cloud infrastructure.

6. Data Retention and Account & Data Deletion

We retain your cloud-stored data for as long as your account remains active.

• In-App Account & Data Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time within the app by navigating to Profile / Account → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently purges your authentication record, cloud watch history, ratings, private notes, and custom lists from our servers.
• Web / External Deletion Request: If you have uninstalled the Application or cannot access your device, you can request full account and data deletion by emailing help@getcinevibe.app with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”, sent from or referencing your registered Google email address. All associated data will be permanently wiped within 30 days of request verification.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Application is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information or registered an account, we will promptly delete their account and associated data from our servers.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, new features, or legal requirements. Updates are effective immediately upon posting to this page. You are advised to review this policy periodically.
